This time we’re lucky to have Talk Talk supporting us bloggers with room at their experience centre (map below), providing free drinks and some munchies. Our speaker, Laura Scott, will be talking about music blogging, the shift from print to digital, and the future of video content.
Laura Scott is a freelance blogger who writes for a number of well known music and art blogs including the Londonist, and most recently, she became the North American music editor of Muso’ s Guide. Muso’s Guide reaches over 100,000 people a month and was shortlisted for Best Digital Publication and Best Blog in the Record of the Day Awards ’09.
Before moving to London from Toronto to complete her masters at Goldsmiths, she had brief stint on radio in addition to curating and promoting gigs. Throughout her career, Laura has had the chance to interview the likes of: Peaches, Silverstein, Anti-Flag, Fugazi, Braid, Moneen, Brix Smith-Start, Echo and the Bunny Men, Metric, Broken Social Scene and many others. When not writing about music, Laura runs an independent record label, One Bird Records, and is a digital consultant for a number of major global brands.
